About me
Chris Paton, MA, LMHC (he/him)
I’m a Seattle-based psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical experience and a lifelong passion for psychology, personal growth, and human connection. After a successful career in high-tech training and development, I returned to my roots in psychology to support individuals in navigating life’s complexities with confidence and authenticity.
My style as a therapist is laid-back but engaged. I’m not a blank wall. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real relationship, grounded in trust, respect, and genuine care.
How I work
My approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy, where you are met with unconditional positive regard in a space that’s affirming, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I tailor each session to fit your unique story and relational experience, because no two people, or journeys, are the same.
I also draw on humanistic, relational, psychodynamic, and solution-focused approaches when they serve you. Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about supporting you in becoming more fully yourself.
Who I work with
I work with adults across the lifespan and welcome individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and relationship structures. I’m especially passionate about supporting members of the queer, LGBTQIA+, polyamorous, ethically non-monogamous, and kink communities. These are communities I know deeply, both personally and through my clinical work.
Whether you’re facing anxiety, going through a life transition, exploring your identity, or simply looking for a space to feel truly heard, you’re not alone. See the full list of services.
